Fitbloggin Day 1

On March 20, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Andrea

Well, I made it.

I drove.  Which I don’t mind doing.  I want that made clear from the start.  I like the drive.  I can push the music up to blaring in the car, roll down the windows, enjoy the breeze through my hair and just enjoy.

It was the traffic in BALTIMORE I didn’t like.  DOWNTOWN Baltimore specifically.

Let me tell you — the pedestrians are fucking nuts.  Absolutely NUTS.  They run out between moving cars and just expect you to STOP regardless of, I don’t know, your moving car!  I thought I was going to have a heart attack on more than one occasion.  And then I got lost.  Well, not lost.  Cause I could SEE my hotel?  But couldn’t get TO my hotel.  Which sucked.

But I’m here.

Where I was greeted (actually yelled at in the lobby) by Beth and Sue.  Who, btw, should teach courses in Southern hospitality.  Cause really?  Lookit what she gave us:

Holy wow!

Isn’t that a cool “Welcome to Baltimore, sorry our traffic blows!” pressie?  I was Fucking. Blown. Away.  Beth was pretty shocked too.  And trust me — it takes alot.

So we fiddled with the internet.  Which we told was to be free for the conference.  And turned out wasn’t.  And our phones weren’t working.  So a total internet #fail on all levels.  So there we go, being the junkies we were?  Paid the whole $12.95 for it.  We get free net in the conference, just not in our rooms.

Go register — and I gotta tell you — we had reservations about coming.  We are a bit out of our niche here, and we don’t know anyone here.  These bloggers seem to have been talking to each other for ever and we are the outsiders looking in.  No one spoke to us at registration, so we quickly left to grab something to eat.  Very awkward feeling.

Came back after dinner at the smallest Whole Foods in existence (but those meatballs were yummy!).  You could tell our table easily:

Lattes and Pomtinis. Yes, we're #BBGC.

Double Fistin it

We were acting the wallflowers until the Pom Wonderful guy, Jeff decided that we needed to mingle.  Yes.  I know.  It’s hard to believe that I can be somewhat shy — but it’s true!  I can be!  Beth and I feel a bit out of place around here because many of these bloggers have been around for awhile, know each other, have spoken with each other for awhile, etc.  We’re new to this circuit and we are kinda outsiders looking in so we just kinda feel weird about it.  We’ll see how it goes.

In any case, our first day was interesting.  Andrea almost killed a few people, drank a Pomtini, had some meatballs, met a few people, and went to bed.

You found a most popular posts plug in?

  9. Andrea says:

    1) Stop crossing the street like that. In this area it will most likely get you killed.
    2) Stop lurking!
