Meta-analysis looks at D2 vs D3

Takeaway:

  • Dr. Goran Bjelakovic led a meta-analysis study in which he analyzed 50 randomized controlled trials with 94,000 participants with some form of vitamin D which reported mortality rates as either primary or secondary outcomes
  • 32 of the studies used D3 (74,000 people) and 12 used D2 (18,000)
  • 6% relative risk reduction of mortality when supplementing w/ D3
  • 2% risk reduction when supplementing with D2
