So I’m not the only one BariatricEating is moderating.

After my blog post yesterday suggesting people ask for the science behind Journey, people started questioning the missing posts and the questionable science.

Now?  Their facebook page is completely blank.

Rather than answering the requests for more information and about the censoring of previous requests made in the past, BE has simply wiped the slate completely clean and disabled posting ability.

What exactly do they have to hide?

Well, this is new.

I’ve been around the Interwebz since before a GUI really was in place and there were text-based links for the BBS system that WAS the Internet.  This was back in the dark ages before teh Google or even teh Windows.  (Yes, there was a time before time..  I’s remembers it.)

With that said, I’ve now experienced something I’ve never had happen to me in all of those years – I’ve been modded.

Crowns

It’s no secret that I listen to a great deal of music.  I link quite a bit of it on my Facebook account, and put the lyrics up that I think are especially potent to what I’m feeling at the time.

I can be pretty quiet.  I know it can seem hard to believe, but it’s true.  And it was much worse when I was younger and used my weight as a shield to hide behind.  So I’ve always used music to express my true feelings.  And as Beth says, I listen to angry boy music, so be prepared.

I’ve been advocating a great deal of personal responsibility of late – responsibility for our own health and responsibility to stand up for ourselves and demand better health from our health care professionals.

“Conventional” versus “Bariatric” Wisdom

So I recently had a blood draw done at my PCP.  And I really like my PCP because he’ll draw what I want and really not fuss too much about it.

This last time, I got a copy in the mail with no notations.  I’d already looked at it, noticed what needed to change, planned those modifications (ie my vitamin K needs to go up) and moved on.

While in Texas, apparently, I got another copy, this time with notations by my PCP, who, obviously means well but knows nothing about vitamins.  As a point, when I was bruising he told me to discontinue ALL vitamin K supplements as they would make my bruising worse.  Umm, hello?
