So I’ve been doing some exercise of late. Some walks around the neighborhood when the hubs gets home to get out of the house, clear my head, and really of late? Get my mind off how much my life sucks and how much my gut hurts. I know that I have as many excuses to just NOT, and even my parents are wondering if I’m overdoing it a bit, but this is my way of forgetting how much I really don’t like eating right now. Cause I had some soft scrambled eggs and cheese last night — fine. Then some soup? And the knife reappeared and lasted throughout the night and is still there this morning. So yeah. Back to liquids only for me. So this exercise thing? Is the ONLY thing that is keeping me somewhat sane.
So in the process, I’ve been trying to move my ass a bit faster and pick up some speed. And the question came up — when does a walk become a jog? And @mcnee answered (and I’m paraphrasing here) that a jog is when both feet are off the ground at some point during the period. Walking requires one foot to be on the ground at all times. So last night, I actually paid attention to my stride.
Verdict? I’m jogging. I’m a painfully S L O W jogger. But I’m jogging.
These are words I never thought my fat ass would ever say. Andrea is jogging. OMG, Andrea is actually jogging. It’s time to tell the Runkeeper on my iPhone that I’m no longer walking, that I’m “running.” (Although it’s a snail’s pace of 3.77 mph..) I have to tell you — at 5+ years out, these NSV’s are harder and harder to come by. That makes them all the more special.
And so the folks at thriv? They’re gonna help me celebrate.
So I just reviewed the Mix1 anti-oxident drink dark-berry. And while it’s got some protein in it? I really should have some more. So I decided to go ahead and review this packet of unflavored whey isolate I got from All the Whey at the same time. For the record, I did the Mix1 review first without adding the packet of whey isolate so my review there was untainted. I then put a bit of the mix1 in a cup, put the rest in a shaker cup and chunked this packet in the shaker cup and gave it a good shake.
It seems our days have become increasingly packed with events as we juggle family, work, and fitness leaving less time to focus on eating right throughout the day.
There are many nutritional products claiming to deliver amazing benefits but in reality fall short on balanced nutrition. With this in mind, we started mix1 with the following mission: to create the highest quality all-natural products that promote health, wellness and performance through truly functional nutrition.
mix1 products deliver all-natural balanced nutrition with multiple benefits in a convenient way. We use the right balance of ingredients, at efficacious levels, to provide the maximum benefit to your body.

Someone was talking about how great this stuff was, so I looked up the company. I decided to drop them a line about their product and they sent me a few samples to try. In no way did they pay me for the review (other than giving me some yummy stuff!) and they did not ask for anything in return. Well, other than my honest opinion. I suppose that counts? And if you’ve been reading me for awhile — honesty is something that I come by fairly easily.
Just coming in from a bike ride with the kids, I decide to pull one of these out of the fridge. Now, this is a bit different than the other mix1 products I’ve reviewed — this is not as much of a protein drink as much as it’s an antioxident / fiber drink. In fact, it’s got a whole lot less sugar (9 grams versus the 29 grams in the other drinks) and a whole lot less protein (9 grams versus 15 grams) than the others. So this is not, strictly speaking, a protein supplement. But given how my stoma doesn’t do veggies and fruits? It’s not a bad choice for me. Your mileage may vary, so take this as it is written.
Right off the bat — This is not my work. Got it? NOT MINE. Jillybean720 on ObesityHelp? yeah. She gets the props for all this wonderfulness.
I’m just putting it up because some people don’t want to download things on the net. I’m providing a service.
This is a comparison of chewable multivites available. Even a liquid. Apples to apples, side by side.
