June Challenge – Day 2

On June 3, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Andrea

Day 2 of the challenge and I (reluctantly) made it a complete rest day.

In fact, this is almost as close to my resting metabolic rate as you can get without me staying in bed all day long.  No activity worth noting on the unit, few steps, etc.  I took it very easy on my bronchitis-crappy lungs and on my sides that I still don’t know why hurt after just some of my runs (not stitches, these are over my hip bones).

I have to say, though, that patience is NOT my strong suit.  I’ve been fairly quiet today, as well, other than some errands and a doctor’s appointment.  But I do think a trip the gym is in order.  I don’t think a long run will happen, but I’m itching for some physical activity (and if you had told me that I would ever say that a few years ago when I weighed 320lbs?  I’d laugh at you.  Really laughed at you).  I just have to wait for the kids to go to bed.  Which should be happening VERY shortly.

I am slowly trying to increase my calories to see if that helps.  My scale, at one point in the day (yes, I’m OCD.. it’s one of my failings) did drop to 180.5 at one point, but I’m not certain if that was simply because edema was going away with the rest day yesterday or not.  Too soon to tell.

June Challenge – Day 1

On June 2, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Andrea

I’m sick.

I try not to admit it that often, but it happens.

I woke up yesterday with no voice at all.  As in, literally, no voice.  Not sure exactly why.  It cleared through the day, though, and while I still had a cough, I sounded mostly normal.

So, even though I was still a bit sore from my epic run the night before, I went to the gym and tried to force a run.

Did not go well.  Did 2.6 mi, though, so I’ve at least done my 2mi for the challenge.

Woke up this morning with less voice, and coughing even more.  So I promise, despite my real wanting to go run (which is mental now), I won’t.  I’ve finally gone insane, off the deep end, wacko, nuts, etc.

And my obvious attempt to add more calories is not going all too well.

June Challenge – Start

On June 1, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Andrea

It’s the beginning of the June exercise challenge and I’m starting it off right.  I hope.

There are the totals for yesterday.  While they aren’t part of the challenge, I’m throwing them up anyway, along with my food for the day:

Exercise consisted of a 2.14mi walk with the family around Lake Wilson during the day, and then a 4.57mi slow jog at night, finishing with some arm free weights.

Start weight 182.5lbs.  Start body fat 32.6%.

The challenge, of course, will be to keep all of this up for a month.

BBGC Running Club?

On May 30, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Andrea

So the BBGC has been accused of being a group of haters.

Which I really find laughable, especially from the source of the accusation.  Because, if nothing else, I am not jealous of Stepford Bariatrics in any form or fashion — nor their intolerance towards things that are not within their narrow definition of “normal”.

With that said, I am going to do what we BBGCers do best — SUPPORT one another.
